Conference
Highlights WIT 2008
The conference was full of anticipation,
excitement, expectancy and most of all,
the Spirit of the Lord. Women traveled from
near and far to attend this historical event
and for that we are forever thankful.
Women flew in from from Nashville,
Tennessee and New York, they drove in
from Lithonia, Grayson and Buford, Georgia,
Raleigh, Durham, Virginia and a bus load
committed
to the highways from New York.
Friday, March 7th there was a meet and greet where the women became more familiar
with each other through a special game title "Find a women in the room".
We distributed a prize to the first registrant--Miss Fawehinmi of New York.
Next, we laughed with Comedian Just June, as previously seen on BET and in
the film Coming to America. June was hilarious, she did a phenomenal impression
of Tina Turner as she moon-walked periodically. Finally, we ended the night
as we sat at the feet of Evangelist Kimberly Benn as she shared her testimony
of her personal transition. As the evening progressed she asked us to turn
to the woman seated next to us and encourage her by ministering the following
words, "You CAN make it!". An awesome spirit of worship entered
the room and we could see the chains and fetters that were holding individuals,
literally fall off. The spirit of the Lord ignited a the spirit of freedom
and liberty that pushed women to press into the presence of Lord and embrace
their transition. Often times we remain in the stuck position because we fail
to embrace where we are thus we force ourselves not to move forward. Lastly,
we departed for the evening knowing that loving ourselves was not an option
and realizing there's a palm within each of us.
Saturday, March 8th the culmination of the services began with 8am prayer...early
in the morning we were seeking the Lord. Lady Goodwin lead us in praise and
worship and the Lord did indeed visit us. Thereafter, Psalmist Ayana George
prepped the atmosphere for the word of God with her celestial voice. She is
God's humble servant. We went from the Outer Court to the Inner Court to the
Most Holy Place. Co-Pastor Subrenia McDaniel preached the unadulterated word
of God. She was anointed and fiery while she slowly walked the congregation
through the word of God, dynamically and clearly expositing her text. Her
message was titled " Breaking the Spirit of Insanity" her text was
founded in the story of the woman with the issue of blood. Co-Pastor McDaniel
through the leading of the Holy Spirit demonstrated to us that only new tactics
would grant us new results. WOW!!! God clearly has chosen this awesome and
integral woman of God for this time.
Lastly, we ended and sang with our encouragement
slogan "Stand Strong in the Posture of Victory". We are anxiously
looking forward to Women In Transition 2009!!
